It is always rewarding for a company and its solutions to be declared a “market leader” in industry reports. Two important practices that have the potential to culminate in achieving this kind of recognition are listening to customers and delivering what customers desire. If executed properly, these practices will lead to significant sales, satisfied customers and, ultimately, affirmation from industry analysts.
We’ve spotlighted analyst coverage on the IntraLinks blog in the past. A recent post from Burcu Aldogan highlighted many accolades from top-tier firms including Forrester, Gartner and IDC. I’m pleased to share new coverage which supports our market leadership in the area of secure online due diligence exchanges, or Virtual Data Rooms (VDRs).
In a January 2010 Ovum Opinion entitled “IntraLinks Moves to Broaden Use Cases for Its Services”, Rik Turner, Financial Services Technology Analyst, writes:
“From a competitive point of view, IntraLinks is already the clear market leader in terms of the independent provision of so-called 'virtual data rooms'. There are other emergent players such as the big ECM (Enterprise Content Management) vendors which see this as a naturally contiguous area for expansion, a feeling shared by some of the social networking/collaboration vendors. However, these kinds of companies are still some way off and, at least in the latter case, lack the formal processes that the secure interchange of commercially sensitive information requires.”[*]
The VDR space was one of the first markets IntraLinks sought to transform with its solutions for firms engaging in strategic financial transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and/or divestitures (M&A), initial public offerings, joint ventures and more. Since providing SaaS-based solutions (software-as-a-service) for those complex business processes, the company has expanded to solutions for Life Sciences, Energy & Utilities, Legal and Professional Services, and more.
We are excited with this recent coverage and, in the spirit of continuous innovation, announced this week the availability of our Microsoft SharePoint Connector product to more tightly integrate to an enterprise’s existing solutions and methods for managing critical documents.
