All buyers want and need to be educated. One of the best ways to do that is making it easy for them to get the information they need to make decisions. Blogs provide an excellent mechanism to do this, especially when paired with other social media tools. At IntraLinks, we are happy to provide this information to the users of our website and thus contributing to the achievement of our business goals.
Blogging is a low cost way to generate real leads and customers. Blogs are supplementary to basic information about products and services. For instance, we provide information about IntraLinks products and services as well as solutions for business needs for various industries. We also supplement this information with blogs from our technology, security, product, and industry experts. This helps users and potential customers that visit our website become more educated about virtual data rooms, collaboration tools, secure information exchanges and how we can help meet their business and technology needs.
So why am I going on and on about the wonderfulness of blogs? Blogging has become one of the most critical aspects of marketing for companies over other social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and others according to a recent blog on HubSpot. Organizations want to interact more with their users and actively create conversations around their products and services. Company blogs are the perfect way to do this. It gives employees and managers a chance to talk about various aspects of products, services, industries, and more while reaching an interested audience.
When we launched the new IntraLinks website in December last year, we did not migrate our blog to the new look and feel or to the upgraded CMS for that matter. This as many of you will understand was due to year-end time crunches and resource contention.
We did not wait long to migrate the blog to a consistent look and feel though. One of our first priorities in 2010 was to get to that post-launch list, which included the blog migration. We started by developing business requirements for the migration and how it would fit into the new site. This included branding of the blog, URL structure, redirects from the old blog URLs, architecture and design for the blog to ensure we continued to be optimized for search engines. Once this was determined, we moved forward with implementing the new look and feel and launched it at the end of February. Since the launch of the updated IntraLinks blog, we have received positive feedback from IntraLinks employees, management, and public users of our website.
