I’m proud to echo the announcement that a leading analyst firm, Gartner, recently recognized IntraLinks as being the global market leader in team collaboration software based on revenues. This is a result that IntraLinks has now earned for the fifth year running.

It’s especially rewarding  to be a leader in a market that’s both large and growing. According to the report referenced above, Gartner, Inc., Market Share Analysis: Team Collaboration and Web-Conferencing Software, Worldwide, 2010, Tom Eid, Bianca Francesca Granetto, April 29, 2011, the team collaboration software market grew 17% in 2010, a 50% increase from 2009. Growth is predicated on market size, however. For example, growth of 500% for a $5M market yields a $25M market, which isn’t particularly exciting. The team collaboration software market was $774M in 2010 – larger than you may have thought, right?

While I never put much stock into awards in the past, I now realize recognition is vital if for no other reason than it leads you to reflect on what you’ve accomplished and provides some useful perspective.

It all started about a month ago when IntraLinks began a sweep at the M&A Atlas Award ceremonies — winning awards in Asia, the Americas and Europe focused on recognizing leadership in M&A technology, specifically Virtual Data Rooms (VDRs). The three victories are meaningful because they come from the community of dealmakers who rely on VDRs everyday to do their jobs.

IntraLinks was just named in Inc. Magazine's 3rd annual ranking of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the country! Many world-class companies — including Microsoft and Oracle — have made it onto this elite list before becoming market leaders. 2009 is the third year IntraLinks has been ranked on the Inc. 500/5000. We were also named in 2003 and 2007.

This year's International Business Award for Best Customer Service Team recognizes the superlative performance of IntraLinks' Global Enterprise Services organization. The award will be collected by Denise Simpson at a star-studded ceremony at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City, on the 14th September.
