INC Research and IntraLinks Form Strategic Relationship to Streamline Clinical Trials
Leading specialized CRO uses IntraLinks to accelerate study start-up process through secure online document exchange

New York and Raleigh, NC, October 19, 2004
IntraLinks, Inc., the leading provider of secure document exchange technology to the pharmaceutical industry, and INC Research®, a global contract research organization (CRO) specialized in central nervous system (CNS), oncology and pediatric clinical research, today announced that they have formed a strategic relationship to expedite and enhance the quality of clinical trials. INC Research will use IntraLinks' 21 CFR part 11 compliant digital workspaces to accelerate secure information exchange during critical start-up and conduct phases of clinical trials, and to manage internal documentation.

"We are pleased to add IntraLinks into our full global service offering," said Jim Ogle, CEO of INC Research. "IntraLinks is well regarded in the financial services industry, another highly regulated business environment with a similar need for secure, collaborative, virtual workspaces. We are pleased to work with IntraLinks to provide INC Research customers the highest quality service and deliverables through continuous process improvement and technological enhancement."

IntraLinks will enable INC Research to substitute time-consuming traditional paper-based processes including mail, courier and e-mail with a more efficient online document distribution and collection process. INC Research will utilize the service to proactively share and manage information with sponsor companies and trial sites, enabling approvals and changes to be viewed by all parties in real-time, in a secure, validated workspace. IntraLinks will be used to shorten timelines in the critical start-up phase of clinical trials, including the contract and budgeting process, regulatory document distribution and collection, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission and approval with investigator sites.

"INC Research has a long-standing reputation as a leader in adopting technological innovation to bring efficiencies and enhanced quality to the drug development process for their customers," said Andrew Damico, executive vice president of North American sales for IntraLinks. "They have recognized that IntraLinks can help them save significant time in completing study start-up for their sponsors. IntraLinks has been widely adopted by the sponsor community and we're excited to have INC Research as a premier CRO partner."
