IntraLinks and iSi-Dentsu Form Strategic Partnership to Bring Japanese Loan Syndication Market Online
New York and Tokyo, June 28, 2006
IntraLinks, Inc., the leading provider of secure online workspaces to the financial services industry, today announced an exclusive agreement with global IT consulting and systems integration firm Information Services International-Dentsu, Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: ISID). Together, the two companies will create and deliver a Japanese-language version of IntraLinks On-Demand Workspaces™ in Japan. The agreement marks a significant development for the booming Japanese loan market, which has seen syndicated loan volumes grow from USD 5.8 billion in 1998 to over USD 167 billion in 2005. The partnership will support the industry’s growth by transforming the process of distributing documents via overnight mail, fax and courier services to a streamlined, more compliant and secure exchange of electronic information.
IntraLinks was founded in the US in 1996 to create a means for the secure communication of confidential business information beyond the corporate firewall. Since that time, it has become an international standard within the loan syndications communities in the US and Europe, and has expanded into the mergers & acquisitions, private equity and corporate markets. With the introduction of IntraLinks, the Japanese financial services community will recognize greater efficiency, and the market will eventually witness a major shift in the way companies manage complex, document-intensive business processes.
“The recent growth in the Japanese loan syndications market has highlighted the need for a solution that will not only reduce the time needed to complete transactions, but is also capable of catalyzing the market,” said Akihiro Fukuyama, Senior Executive Director for iSi-Dentsu. “In the US, Europe and Australia, IntraLinks has proven its ability to bring entire communities online by consistently providing a highly dependable and secure service that helps banks to meet their compliance needs. We have examined every element of the IntraLinks service, and are confident that we have chosen the right partner.”
