Welcome to the official IntraLinks blog!

President and Chief Executive Officer, IntraLinks
POSTED ON May 5, 2009

J. Andrew DamicoWelcome to the IntraLinks blog! This blog is all about sharing our ideas and most importantly listening to your ideas. I do want to take one moment to introduce IntraLinks for those of you who may not know us.

Everyday companies exchange critical information within their company and outside their company with business partners and colleagues. If companies couldn't do this efficiently and extremely securely, business as we know it would come to a screeching halt. At IntraLinks we're all about helping companies across the globe exchange critical information every day - securely, compliantly and auditably. The result is that companies get business done faster, get business done easier and get business done more profitably. I am proud of our efforts over the last 10 years helping businesses exchange critical information. There's nothing that gets me more excited than hearing from one of our many customers after they've had a successful experience using our service.

Enough about us.

We are all conscious of the "carbon footprint" we leave behind us as we conduct business each and every day. Society is demanding that each of us be accountable to do what we can, both individually and corporately, to reduce carbon emission, reduce waste and think about ways to leave the world a "greener" place for future generations. While we focus on the longer term health of our planet, there is a more immediate concern for many of us as a result of the current financial crisis. The global financial crisis which started showing itself midway through 2007 has culminated in millions of lost jobs. Governments around the world are imposing new laws and regulations to attempt to stop the same sequence of events from happening again. As a result of new laws and increased government regulation, companies are required to produce more information and provide access and transparency to regulators. The web now connects companies and people across the globe giving each of us immediate access to the digital information we need to do our jobs. Much of this information is sensitive and critical - it pertains to lives, money and logistics. As a result, corporations are putting more thought into the ways they share and exchange information with those outside of their companies.

As growth has slowed for many companies, there is a renewed focus on controlling expenses. Let's face it, paper and courier are costly and slow. Though email is fast, easy and cost effective, it does not meet corporate compliance standards when it comes to the exchange of critical information. While all this is happening around us, the acceptance and adoption of software as a service as well as cloud computing, has allowed businesses to manage the massively increasing volume of content that is created, shared and exchanged digitally every day with those they conduct business with.

As CEO of IntraLinks, I am very excited about the launch of our blog and hearing from you on some topics that we continue to talk about here at IntraLinks. I look forward to your perspective on a range of diverse topics such as the state of security in the cloud, current global trends in bankruptcies & restructuring, enhancing users experience through search, protecting information once it leaves an organization and much more.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you!

Burano has lace and all of that. It is one of those places that could be vitised in about an hour.Murano is a little more interesting to walk through (especially the residential neighborhoods)In Venice I recall some bar that sold absinthe and I am trying to remember the name of the gelato place that I really really liked. (considered some of the best in the city)For dinner La Zucca is good. Vegetarian and meat options and a dandy pumpkin flan that is just terrific for a starter.

One of the most anticipated outcomes in the coming months will be what an enterprise deployment of our services in a company will look like? Not only will this be the most convincing endorsement of our "new age", it will show we can progress successfully beyond dept and project based uses.

This is exciting! It will give both clients and employees alike the opportunity to stay abreast of developments within IntraLinks as well as an additional avenue to provide input. Looking forward to see what comes of it.
