The National Investment Banking Competition & Conference, which gives undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gain knowledge and recognition from industry professionals, was held last week in downtown Vancouver. Throughout the two day conference leading up to the competition, students attended industry panels and networked with professionals from various banks in Vancouver to further their education about their career path in finance — an opportunity that they otherwise may not have had.

As a premiere sponsor, Intralinks was posted up in the reception area waiting for the eager attendees looking to get ahead of the competition. Many of them stopped by our booth once word got around about the opportunity to win copies of the number one best-selling book on investment banking, compliments of Intralinks.  Written by Joshua Rosenbaum and Joshua Pearl,  Investment Banking: Valuation, Leveraged Buyouts, and Mergers & Acquisitions  is in many curriculums and provides students with an overview of the investment banking industry – it even includes a chapter on Intralinks’ VDR solution.

Keynote speaker Clive Johnson, President and CEO of B2Gold Corp, shared wisdom while reflecting on his success by encouraging everyone to: “think outside the box and be bold.”

Congratulations to the winning teams of the competition and great work to everyone involved.  Interested in downloading a free chapter of the Investment Banking book?  Click here.
