It’s 2014, and bankers are getting with the times. Deal sourcing networks like Intralinks Dealnexus™ represent the future of how M&A professionals are matching qualified buyers and sellers, and sourcing deals.

Social dealmaking, the use of online deal sourcing, continues to gain traction as more M&A professionals are moving online to research opportunities, connect with dealmakers and get deals done. A 2013 Intralinks survey of 2,400 M&A professionals found that 55 percent of dealmakers currently use an online deal network to support deal sourcing, with 50 percent of buy-side and 40 percent of sell-side professionals indicating that they have closed a deal sourced on an online network.

A successful deal is all about finding the right buyer and the right seller at the right time. Social media and community-based deal networks present a low-cost alternative for dealmakers to broaden their reach of potential buyers and sellers, efficiently speed up the dealmaking process and close deals.  In 2013, Intralinks saw a significant increase in the number of dealmakers globally using its Intralinks Dealnexus platform. There was a 99 percent increase in the total number of actionable M&A opportunities hosted on the platform, with the average deal size up almost 30 percent over the prior year. Based on the platform’s current run rates, deal volume is expected to double again in 2014.

Intralinks recently announced that they are unveiling enhancements to the Intralinks Dealnexus user interface.  Online deal sourcing has officially become an art with the launch of the latest version.  As if it wasn’t already easy enough to navigate, the Intralinks Dealnexus user experience has just gotten better with a redesigned look and feel which includes punchier colors, sleeker lines and an altogether cleaner, more elegant interface intended to ease navigation and highlight calls to action.  But don’t just read about it.
