ALTSMIA Intralinks technology panel

Last week I presented at ALTSMIA 2019, a one-day event developed and led by the CFA Society of Miami, CAIA Miami and Miami Finance Forum, accompanied by several colleagues from SS&C Intralinks.

Before I moderated “How Is New Technology Changing the Alternative Investment Landscape” featuring panelists (pictured L-R above) Mark Kavelaars, of Crescendo Venture Partners; Steven Brod, of Crystal Capital Partners; and Evan Jaysane-Darr, of Invesco Private Capital, I had the pleasure of presenting the results of the SS&C Intralinks 2020 LP Survey.

Each year SS&C Intralinks, in partnership with Private Equity Wire, polls limited partners (LPs) worldwide for an insider’s view of their sentiments toward their current funds, how they select general partners (GPs), and allocation plans for the coming 12 months.

Speaking to an audience of practitioners from the fields of private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and other sectors of the alternative investment market, I shared key findings including:

  • The types of GPs investors are looking for
  • Key investment areas of focus for LPs over the next 12 months
  • Top sectors LPs plan to invest in
  • Technology considerations

In the video below I discuss highlights from our third annual LP Survey, which you can download here.
