Overview
InfraRed Capital Partners is a global infrastructure investment firm managing multiple investment vehicles and a diverse international investor base. With more than 25 years of experience, InfraRed has established itself as a leader in the asset class, managing USD 13 billion of equity capital on behalf of investors worldwide.
The firm delivers high volumes of investor communications, including capital account statements, quarterly reports, annual financial statements and ad hoc updates. To support these requirements at scale, InfraRed upgraded from Fund Reporting to SS&C Intralinks FundCentre Reporting (formerly InvestorVision™), adopting a more modern, scalable approach to investor reporting.
Situation
InfraRed previously relied on Fund Reporting to manage its investor communications across its funds. As the number of investment vehicles and investors grew, the platform became increasingly difficult to navigate and manage. The legacy system limited the team’s ability to efficiently organize and retrieve documents, with inconsistent naming conventions and a less intuitive user experience, creating friction in daily workflows.
Managing approximately 12 investment vehicles — each requiring recurring and ad hoc communications such as capital call statements, quarterly updates and annual reports — placed increasing pressure on the team to scale operations efficiently.
As reporting demands continued to increase, these limitations led to inefficiencies in day-to-day workflows and reduced productivity. This ultimately prompted InfraRed to seek a more intuitive and structured solution that could streamline processes and improve accessibility for both internal teams and investors.
Solution
InfraRed implemented Intralinks FundCentre Reporting to centralize investor communications and modernize document management across funds. The platform’s clean, intuitive interface enables teams to organize, upload and distribute materials more efficiently. Documents can be uploaded once and distributed across multiple funds, improving consistency while significantly reducing manual effort.
“It’s just a bit fresher … the old system was less intuitive,” said Sharan Birring, capital formation analyst at InfraRed Capital. “It’s very easy for me to find documentation on FundCentre Reporting — and it will be for investors as well.”
FundCentre Reporting also enhances LP user management, allowing InfraRed to manage permissions across investor groups in a structured and scalable way. Built-in analytics and reporting features provide greater visibility into document activity and engagement, supporting more informed investor communications.
The migration involved transferring thousands of documents from the legacy system. With hands-on support from the Intralinks team, the transition was completed smoothly, with issues resolved quickly along the way.
Results
Following implementation, InfraRed significantly improved the efficiency and scalability of its investor reporting workflows. Tasks that were previously time-consuming are now streamlined and intuitive.
“I can’t even remember using the old system now … it’s really good to just be able to access documents very quickly,” says Birring.
The platform now supports tens of thousands of documents across approximately 12 investment vehicles, providing a strong, scalable foundation for continued growth. Standardized organization and naming conventions have improved internal consistency, while faster document retrieval enhances productivity.
FundCentre Reporting also delivers a more modern and intuitive experience for investors. A centralized dashboard allows LPs to easily navigate materials across funds, improving accessibility and supporting greater transparency.
In addition to operational improvements, InfraRed highlighted the ongoing value of Intralinks’ customer support, citing responsiveness and strong technical expertise from the customer success team.
Looking Ahead
InfraRed continues to leverage FundCentre Reporting as its primary reporting platform for investor communications, enabling efficient, transparent and scalable reporting processes.
The firm has also identified opportunities for future enhancements, including greater flexibility in permission management and email customization, underscoring its ongoing engagement with product innovation.
When asked about overall satisfaction:
“Yes, I definitely would recommend Intralinks for the reporting tool,” says Birring, highlighting the platform’s impact on both efficiency and investor experience.
As InfraRed continues to evolve its operations, FundCentre Reporting will remain a key part of its journey.
