Grab your kids and join Maya once a week for a fun, movement-based workout class that you can do all together! This class is geared to keep both kids and parents active together, no prior dance experience is necessary. Each week will be a different theme, incorporated throughout the class (parents & kids are encouraged to dress up in theme, but not required). Begin with a short warm-up and partner exercises inspired by the theme. After a quick water break, Maya will lead you through fun and simple dance choreography. This class will give both parents and kids a fun, quick workout! (Ages 6+)
Maya Sank is a professional dancer in New York City and the founder of Maya Moves. After graduating with a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from Elon University in 2016, Maya moved to Jerusalem, Israel to better her technique and train with Vertigo Dance Company. After a year abroad, Maya moved to NYC to pursue her dance career. With her patience for teaching beginners, she quickly began teaching a weekly beginner dance class, something she thought NYC lacked. She wanted to create a safe environment for those who used to dance or want to learn while getting a workout in. In addition to teaching adults, Maya’s true passion has always been with kids and has years of experience teaching dance to all ages and levels. Maya spends her summer as the Director of Dance at a sleep-away camp, and now teaches weekly privates lessons, birthday parties, corporate classes, and more!
